Important Reasons Why You Must Set Goals

Nobody in this life has ever succeeded without been a goal setter. Life is not worthy of living when there is no goal to pursue. For anyone who wants to be successful in life, he/she must see goal setting as the first step towards life achievement.

This is because it marks your first point toward success. I doubt if you've ever see any football match without a goal pole... it doesn't exist. If such kind of match is to take place, nothing will be derived from it, than a mere frustration.

The players would be so frustrated while the spectators would also find it uninteresting to watch... the main target of everybody on the football field is the GOAL POLE. So where is your goal pole?

If you have ever seen people who had no goal. They don’t set any goals and they just live life as if they are whiling away their times. That's why when you see them today, there is no single noticeable different in their lives compared to last five years.

With this post, I will tell you four reasons why you must set your goals.

1) It Makes You Focus On your End Goal:  The simple reality is that, if you don’t have a goal in life, you are spending your life running around and not achieving anything for yourself. You are just in the illusion that you are doing a great thing.

There is no any other way you can achieve your dreams and visions if you don’t clearly spell out the end output you desire. This is the major reason why setting your goals gives you clarity on what you ultimately want.

It ensures that you channel your time, energy and efforts into things that really matter to you. It makes you live more conscious of what you want.

Whatever you want to achieve in life started from your own mind and then follow by the manifestation in reality. If you don't create it in your mind, there will be no physical creation. When you set a goal, you already accomplish the first creation.

2) Your Goals Keep You Moving: Let assume you are travelling to a known destination…the place you actually know how far it is, and you know the benefits therein when you struggled to get there. No matter how tough the going get, you will surely get moving. Compared to when you have no specific destination and you have no knowledge of any benefit attached to such a journey.

Our goals are the representatives of our inner desires; and they motivate us in life. They are the fuel which drive us forward and keep us going when the going gets tough. If you don’t have a goal, you see every reason to quit after a little challenge.

When I started blogging, each time I make a post, I do find out nobody was reading any of those stuff. No matter how good I write, nobody is just there to read. I felt like giving up, because it was my belief that people don’t actually need my time, resources and energy I put in writing.

The only reason why I refused to quit then was because, I have a goal, and my goal was to talk to people, help them achieve their best potential. So I promised to continue writing, even when nobody bothers to real.

After putting more effort and doing things in the right ways, I do not just have readers, but I have people who called and message me to please write on a daily basis.

3) Having goals make you check yourself on a timely basis: Rather than just talking about what you want all the time and not do anything concrete about them, you are now obligated to take action. Setting a specific goal gives you clarity on whether you are living up against what you committed yourself to do when you first set your goal.

This makes you accountable to yourself, not anyone else. When you stay accountable toward your goals, you are in fact staying true to your desires.

My blogging goal for now is to write a particular numbers of articles per day, so this makes it easy for me to check if am achieving my goal already.

When I set such targets in place, I become accountable toward delivering against it. If I find myself not meeting up, I will take the necessary actions to turn the situation around.

4) Goals setting is the only way to get the best out of life: With goals setting you can live your best life and achieve your best potential. Goals ensure you are maximizing your life for all that it can offer you.

Without goals, keep doing what pleases you and make you feel safe and comfortable every day. But doing this is the enemy of your growth. It prevents you from growing. It does not enable you to become the best person you can be. It denies you from tapping into all that potential inside of you.

I hope this helps?
